So much so, that we decided to make a list of all the ways
Massachusetts is a global innovative leader, and we want you to

1. CLEAN ENERGY

America's first offshore wind farm will be built in the Nantucket
Sound, just offshore from the Massachusetts coast. This undertaking will
create hundreds of jobs, increase energy independence and contribute
greatly to a healthier environment. Cape Wind is just one of the many
ways Massachusetts is paving the way towards clean energy.

2. LIFE SCIENCES

In Massachusetts, strides in the life sciences sector are made every
day. Gateway Park in Worcester is home to dozens of life sciences
companies as well as Nobel Prize winner Craig C. Mello, who perform
their innovative research and development with the facilities'

3. HEALTH IT

Innovation in Health Information Technology is constantly developing
in Massachusetts, furthered by Governor Deval Patrick's HIT Conference
in April 2010. At the conference, federal and state leaders discussed
strategic ways to enhance HIT innovation.

4. BUSINESS

The Cambridge Innovation Center is one of the world's largest
business incubators, housing approximately 175 companies and offering
award winning facilities and state-of-the-art technology and business
services. The Boston Globe said, "If technology and innovation are the
lifeblood for our future, then CIC is ground zero."

Kauffman Foundation ranks Massachusetts as one of the top leaders in innovation. 

5. ENTREPRENEURISM

Massachusetts has the highest venture capital investment per capita
of any place in the world, and one fifth of the venture capital in the
US is managed here.

6. ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE

CambridgeSoft Corporation is a leading supplier of discovery,
collaboration and knowledge enterprise solutions, desktop software,
scientific databsaes and consulting services to the pharmaceuticals
biotech and chemical industries. The company's prinicpal software Chem
& Bio Draw is the standard and primary communication tool on the

7. INVENTION

Think of all the things invented in Massachusetts: Boston cream pie,
the telephone, basketball and volleyball, the first computer, power
steering and the chocolate chip cookie. Massachusetts has always and
will always be foremost in creation and invention.

8. EDUCATION

The University of Massachusetts is aware that the future of our
science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) industries
manifest themselves in students. That's why UMass has developed the STEM
Education Institute, to mobilize the STEM community to encourage the
development of future STEM professionals. 

10. MARKETING

Massachusetts is home to a number of innovative and creative
marketing companies that are revolutionizing their industry. Take for
example Hubspot, which has enhanced the marketing strategy of companies
and doubles, triples or quadruples their traffic.

11. ROBOTICS

The Massachusetts Robotics Cluster is one of the largest in the
world, with more than eighty companies, and ten universities teaching
and developing robotics.
